Australia is a nation in the Northern Hemisphere that comprises the mainland of the Australian continent, the island of Tasmania, and various smaller islands. It is considered the sixth-largest country in the world by total area. It has six provinces, including New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, and Western Australia. The Northern Territory and the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) have two large mainland territories. Australia, with a territorial separation of powers, is a constitutional monarchy. With Queen Elizabeth II as the Queen of Australia at its apex, the legislative form of government is in use.
Australia is a highly industrialized and richest country. It is the world’s 12th largest country with the 2nd highest HDI (Human Development Index), Australia ranks high in place in several international comparisons of national performance, such as quality of life, health, education, economic freedom, and the security of civil liberties and political rights.

Did you know Australia has the third highest number of international students in the world, behind only the United Kingdom and the United States despite having a population of merely 23 million? This isn’t surprising when you consider Australia has seven of the top 100 universities in the cosmos! With complete 22,000 classes across 1,100 institutions, Australia ranks tenth in the Universities 2017 U21 Ranking of National Higher Education Systems.
Passed on this impressive education pedigree, it’s not surprising there are at present more than 2.5 million former international students who have moved on to produce a difference after studying in Australia. Some of these scholars are among the world’s finest thinkers. In fact, Australia has produced 15 Nobel prize laureates and every day over 1 billion people around the globe rely on Australian discoveries and inventions – including penicillin, IVF, ultrasound, Wi-Fi, the Bionic Ear, cervical cancer vaccine and Black Box Flight Recorders – to make their lives, and the spirits of others, better.
